We Support You : Letters of Encouragement for Our Troops Serving in Iraq & Afghanistan
The lyrics for Joey's song, "I Say Thank You" were included in this book which was sent to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Joey was honored to sing the song at the Welcome Home Ceremony for our local 802nd Ordnance Company returning from Afghanistan. While he was singing, many of them were wiping their eyes and weeping.
At the end of the ceremony, they announced that they were giving a commemorative coin, called a challenge coin, to all the troops. They had a few coins for the honored guests, and one was for Joey.
As he received his from the commanding officer, Capt. Todd Bostick, the Captain told Joey that his song was very touching and moving, and thanked him for writing it for them. Joey was moved. The troops were yelling and shouting as Joey walked across the platform, and Joey's wife Angela said she heard many shouting his name. Joey was surprised and blessed.
He went to bless and honor the troops and man did they bless him! Please continue to pray for all our troops.
